To Our Quincy Dental Center Family:
We are all aware of the order to "shelter in place" given by Governor Pritzger. Dentistry is a healthcare industry and therefore, our office is still allowed to be open for some procedures. However, the American Dental Association and the Illinois State Dental Society have given their recommendations to postpone all elective dental procedures until at least April 30th. An elective dental procedure has been defined in many ways. If, by these definitions, we have determined your procedure could wait a few weeks, we will contact you about your appointment with the doctor. All dental cleanings with the hygienists have been determined by these recommendations to be elective (as dentists and dental hygienists, we have our own opinions on this!) and will be rescheduled at a later date.
FOR THE TIME DETERMINED BY OUR GOVERNOR, ALL TREATMENT IN OUR OFFICE MUST CEASE UNTIL SUCH TIME WE ARE GIVEN THE GO AHEAD TO RESUME ELECTIVE DENTAL CARE.
It is nearly impossible for our team to make all of the calls necessary to reschedule the large number of patients scheduled for dental cleanings. We are working hard trying to figure out the best way to take care of your needs and minimize the number of times we have to change appointments. Until we have a more solid date we can begin seeing you for dental cleanings, we will not call for rescheduling. If you have a question about an appointment, please contact our office. Be patient with us as we navigate these uncertain times and day to day changes. Our phones will only be answered during very limited hours due to the shelter in place order.
We are screening, by phone, ANY patient who has pain to determine if it is worth the risk to see you in person. WE WILL TAKE CARE OF OUR PATIENTS! If you have pain or a dental problem, PLEASE call our office. If no one answers, follow the prompt to leave a message or speak with Dr. Pritts. Please do not doubt that our team is still here for you, but are limited as to what we can do without creating a bigger problem in the community.
The inconvenience of all of this is maddening, but know we will do the right thing to keep our patients and our team healthy and safe based on the latest information available. Please call our office if you have any questions.
